What We Collect
To provide StonkWhales, we collect and store:
- •Account information — Email address and password to create and secure your account
- •Learning progress — Your quiz scores, completed lessons, and badges earned
- •Simulated portfolios — Your virtual trades and portfolio performance data
- •Investment theses — Any theses you write and choose to save
- •Payment information — Processed securely through Apple's App Store. We never see your card details.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to:
- •Provide and improve the StonkWhales service
- •Track your learning progress and portfolio performance
- •Calculate leaderboard rankings (using anonymized scores)
- •Send you important service updates (you can opt out)
Leaderboards
If you participate in leaderboards, your chosen display name and score may be visible to other users. Your email, portfolio details, and personal information are never shown. You can choose not to appear on leaderboards in your settings.
Analytics
We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how people use StonkWhales (like which features are popular or where users get stuck). This data is anonymous, aggregated, and never includes your portfolio data, theses, or learning content.
Third Parties
We don't sell, share, or provide your personal data to any third parties for marketing purposes. We may use trusted service providers (like cloud hosting) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements. We use real market data from financial data providers—but we never share your information with them.
